These terms govern the courses of Accademia Lingua Italiana Assisi s.a.s. di Chiuchiù Angelo & C., Via Tiberio d’Assisi, 10 – 06081 Assisi (PG), Italy, VAT no. 00780430542, REA PG-174499 (“the Academy”). By enrolling you accept them.
1. Who these terms apply to
They apply to all courses: group, intensive, super intensive, thematic, private and online courses, and programs. The pages of each course and the Calendar and fees page describe their content, dates and prices.
For groups organised by universities, schools or other institutions, the written agreements with the institution apply; for anything they do not cover, these terms apply.
2. Enrolment
You enrol with the online form linked on the course page. The contract is concluded when the Academy confirms your enrolment by email. No deposit is required.
Before the course starts you take an online placement test; on the first day a short interview completes the assessment. The Academy decides your class level based on the results.
3. Prices
Prices are in euros and are valid until 31 December 2027. They include what is listed on the Calendar and fees page: lessons, course materials, access to the Moodle platform, certificates, activities and workshops, the Academy card. The courses are exempt from VAT under art. 10, no. 20, of Presidential Decree 633/1972.
The price shown by the course configurator is an estimate. The price confirmed at enrolment is the one that applies.
Not included: travel, accommodation (except in programs that include it), meals, the CILS or CERT.IT exam fee, insurance.
4. Payment
You can pay by bank transfer or by credit card through PayPal or Wise. Bank details and fees are on the Calendar and fees page. Payment fees are paid by the person who pays.
The full amount must be paid before the course starts.
If you pay by the 10th of the month before your course starts, you receive a €100 discount voucher, valid once, for courses of 4 weeks or more. It does not apply to private courses.
5. Cancellation
You can cancel your enrolment by email to [email protected]. The date we receive your email is the one that counts.
- up to 4 weeks before the course starts: the full price is refunded;
- from 4 weeks before until the course starts: the school keeps 50% of the price of the whole course;
- after the course has started no refund is possible.
Instead of cancelling, you can move your course (section 7).
For programs with accommodation these are the standard termination fees provided for by art. 41 of the Italian Tourism Code (Legislative Decree 79/2011). If unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances at the place of the program prevent it from taking place, you can withdraw free of charge and we refund you in full.
6. Enrolling online: the 14 days
For courses without accommodation, if you enrol at a distance (online, by email, by phone) for personal purposes, the law gives you 14 days from the confirmation of your enrolment to withdraw without any cost and without giving a reason (articles 52 and following of the Italian Consumer Code). In practice this matters only if you enrol less than 4 weeks before the start: in that case, if you cancel within 14 days of the confirmation and before the course starts, we refund you in full, within 14 days and by the same means of payment.
If you expressly ask to start the course before the 14 days have passed and then withdraw, you pay for the lessons already held. Once the course is over, the right no longer applies.
This right does not apply to programs with accommodation, to enrolments made in person at the school office, or to agreements with universities and institutions.

7. Changing your dates
If you ask to change your start date:
- up to 2 weeks before the start: everything you paid stays as a credit, valid for 12 months;
- up to 1 week before the start: 70% stays as a credit, valid for 12 months;
- after the course has started: no credit can be given.
8. Study visa
If you ask us for the pre-enrolment certificate for your visa:
- once the visa has been issued, dates and type of course cannot be changed;
- if the visa is refused, we refund what you paid minus €350 of administration fees. For the refund we need the original refusal document issued by the authority and the original documents issued by the Academy.
9. How the courses work
- Each lesson lasts 50 minutes. Group lessons are in the morning, Monday to Friday; individual lessons in the afternoon.
- Classes have 5 to 12 students. A group course starts with at least 5 students. If that number is not reached, the Academy may reorganise the course with fewer hours. It tells you before the start; if the new arrangement does not suit you, you can cancel and we refund you in full.
- There are no lessons on the closing days shown in the calendar. Closing days do not extend the course and are not made up.
- Lessons missed by the student in Assisi are not made up. Online lessons are made up if you cancel them at least 24 hours in advance.
- You receive the certificate of attendance and the assessment certificate based on the Common European Framework if you attended at least 75% of the lessons.
- The Academy may change teacher, timetable or classroom when the organisation of the courses requires it, without changing the number of lessons.
10. Accommodation
The Academy helps you find accommodation: an independent flat, a single or double room in a shared flat, or a hotel. Options and prices are on the Accommodation page.
The accommodation contract is between you and the landlord or the hotel, who set its terms: deposit, arrival and departure, cancellation, payment. The Academy is not a party to that contract and is not liable for the accommodation service. If there is a problem, the school office will still help you solve it.
11. Insurance and liability
We recommend health and travel insurance valid in Italy for your whole stay. Students from countries outside the European Union also need it for the visa.
The Academy is liable for damage caused by its fault during the lessons and activities it organises. It is not liable for personal belongings left unattended or for activities organised by others.
12. Complaints and disputes
If something is wrong, talk to the school office or write to [email protected]: we reply within 14 days.
The contract is governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, the protections of the law of the country where you live still apply. For disputes with consumers, the court of the place where the consumer lives has jurisdiction; in all other cases, the Court of Perugia.
